BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!! The legal hurdles ARE cleared! Rogueweather is going to team up with our new sponsor McMurray and Sons Roofing, Insulation, and Energy Management to bring you a whole new way to see fires, and floods. As a PUBLIC SERVICE and for EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT purposes Rogueweather will team with McMurray and Sons in using a drone to get video coverage of what is happening. This service is provided free of charge as a hobby for us, and to help provide critical information when disasters threaten. The drone is a true drone. It flies via an internal navigation system. We can program GPS coordinates into it, fire off the engines, and the drone takes over from there. It has terrain following capability. We can be down as low as 6 inches off the ground. At its maximum ceiling we would need an FAA flight plan to be filed. We do have a remote piloting system as well, and we will be flying the drone in line of sight, and not over the horizon. The drone is equipped with a high resolution digital video camera that has look down and horizon scan ability. The pictures are very sharp providing excellent detail. We will live feed the images from the drone back to the home page of Rogueweather. In addition, we hope to mount a FLIR thermal imaging system,on it very soon for night vision capability The way we cover events is going to significantly change. The drone will give us the ability to help provide better details of what is happening to help people to take action to save life, and property. We will be partnering with the National Weather Service to help them better access severe weather events both as they happen, and to do storm assessment work following events.
