BIRTHDAY BIKE: The Triumph Sprint GT SE wakes up to its first - TopicsExpress

BIRTHDAY BIKE: The Triumph Sprint GT SE wakes up to its first birthday on 8th Oct 2014 with 7,017 miles on the clock from roads in England, Scotland, Wales, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland. It is better handling, faster and smoother than the Triumph Tiger 955i that it replaced. Now accustomed to the more sporting crouch over the tank with feet further back riding position and away from town traffic I find it a more comfortable ride too. A slightly improved mpg to that of the Tiger affords it a proven more than 200 miles range between fill ups of the 20L tank. Tyres and brake pads were completely worn out all round at 6,000 miles. But there again and regardless that it does not possess the handling characteristics or top speed of a full on sports bike, it has nonetheless already experienced a lot of lively cornering and speed. Without a stablemate for this winter I am going to have to use it more and expect it will clock up a higher mileage in the coming year. I have set aside some ACF50 and Scottoiler FS365 protective applications for the next chance I have time to give it a thorough clean. With before and after photos to back up what I write, I will report back with my honest evaluation as to how effective they are.
