BLANTON, Clayton Bradley age 83, of Monroe, OH, died Thursday March 6, 2014 at Hospice of Butler/Warren Counties in Middletown. Clayton was born in Seven Mile, Ohio on December 16, 1930 to William and Martha Blanton. He served in the Marine Corps and in the Army during the Korean War, he was a past member of the Moose Lodge #501, the Eagles Lodge #528, and the Middletown Rescue Squad where he was certified as a master rescue diver. Clayton was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel on December 7, 1988 by Governor Wallace G. Wilkinson. Clayton also was a past Deputy Sheriff of Butler County. He was employed with Armco & AK Steel Co. and retired in 1993. Clayton enjoyed country and bluegrass music and guitars. He was an avid knife maker and collector. He was preceded in death by his wife, Neoma Fay Blanton; He is survived by 3 sons, Larry Blanton, Lester (Linda) Blanton, Rick (Cheryl) Blanton; 1 daughter, Christine (John) Homan; 1 brother, John; 6 granddaughters; 6 grandsons; 12 great-grandsons; and 7 great-granddaughters. A private cremation is being arranged by Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Woodside Cemetery with military honors.
