BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN Those who mourn are the lamenters who see the world through spiritual eyes and are not seduced by its charms. Like Jesus mourning over Jerusalem they intercede against the power of sin and for the hearts of the lost, expressing the passion of God’s heart. Mourners are standard bearers of sorrow in the fellowship of the crucified, bleeding hearts who re-present Christ - the man of sorrows – to a lost and dying world. Scripture twice records the weeping laments of our Savior, once for Jerusalem because they failed to recognize that God the Son was visiting them, offering them salvation, and once over the unbelief of His disciples. There is no greater form of worship then to mourn with passionate sorrow for those who have not responded to the loving call of the Father – for those who lack faith. This passion reverberates in the heart of the Father. “Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.” Selah... pause, and think of that...
