BMF Provincial Structures are set to go to elective AGMs this - TopicsExpress

BMF Provincial Structures are set to go to elective AGMs this month and many have done so already and others like ours has not yet seat. I just want to caution all of us, not to fight and degenerate to underhand tactics for leadership positions. Democracy as defined by the majority rule must just prevail. And people must not think being contested is a precursor to causing anarchy and stifle democracy, its just an affirmation of no entitlement and every member in good standing has a right to contest leadership positions in line with the provisions of our constitution. So if the membership prefers certain leaders over others, it must not be taken as a sign of no confidence to those leaders but more as a practice of democracy and leadership preferences. Those who are currently in positions of leadership must not be under the illusion that it is their god given right to lead. Leadership change can be effected and people must not be bitter about that. As managers, we need to show a high level of discipline and refrain from the temptation of buying members and influencing leadership contest which is not in the best interest of our organisation. We must remain the symbol of hope for our nation and our conduct and unity is paramount to the role we seek to play in society. My call is for peaceful transition and successful AGMs to all provinces. Congratulations to the Chairperson of Eastern Cape, Thabisa Sigwela for being elected unopposed on Saturday.
