BNP’s Senior Vice-Chairman Mr. Tarique Rahman has given speech in a seminar titled ‘Strategy for a Prosperous Bangladesh’ at Queen Mary University of London on August 24, 2014, organized by Bangladesh Sommilito Peshajibi Parishad UK (Bangladesh United Professional Council UK). The speech has given bellow… Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. The president of today’s program, the organizers of the program, the presents in the program… particularly the guests present on the dais, different professional sitting in front of me, invited guests, journalists brothers, Assalamualaikum. I personally thank the guests who have come here and at the same time I also thank the organizers of United Professional Council; because they have created the scope to say something before you. If we look at the banner, we can see today’s topic. The topic is strategy for a prosperous Bangladesh. We are a prosperous, productive Bangladesh which we expect; this is such a thing which, as the citizen of Bangladesh, everybody expects something good of this country through his knowledge or conscience. Perhaps, everybody thinks in his own way according to his own educational qualification or knowledge. But our thought, all of our vision or goal is the one. That is the prosperous Bangladesh that we think for ourselves. Those of us who think it, we think it for our future generation. But, the present invited guests, here is a tale. What is that? The tale is I am a politician and you have known from the speech of the organizers that there are some more politicians are also present here. Today, perhaps we are two types of people are present here. The one is me or us who do politics for the people of the country and for the country. The other is you who are present, those who are dubbed as professionals. It means those who are professionals or those who assist us in directing the country other than directly. You contribute for the country. You cannot decline or it will not be possible to decline for all of us that;we have seen many where, those countries who developed in the world, always we have seen that before development, or before attaining something good, a steady and peaceful political environment is needed. That is there will surely be difference of opinions in politics. But a country gradually develops in all sectors when some of the basic political debates are settled and when an actual steady, peaceful and normal political situation exists in a country. But this is an unfortunate truth in case of Bangladesh that this cannot be applicable even after forty two years of independence, especially, at this particular moment. Today we are here on 24th August. We all are here in this program. In this month of August, there have been some incidents anyhow in the history of forty two years. Earlier I said, there are some political affairs, some debates which should be ended, and everybody needs to know the truth. Because, all can concentrate in good and appropriate tasks if we know the truth; when the truth is settled. That is why, forsake of everybody’s learning, I think since you help me and politicians; professionals who are present here, you help the politicians to build the country. That’s why, some of the affairs, some of the debates, some of the truths are needed to show you, I think. That’s why, before going to the topic of prosperous Bangladesh, I would like to bring forward some other things. In the history of past forty two years, there have been some incidents in the month of August. As one of them happened in 1975. An incident occurred on August 15 in 1975. An incident of grief, a murder happened. Dear audience, guests, any murder is certainly condemned. But what we see today? Today we see, some of our people to gain their interests, to serve their interests, and particularly the illicit government that exists in Bangladesh, some illicit people of that illicit government, particularly, the lady in their lead who is the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, so called prime minister, she is also in its lead. They say something to the people. They are trying to confuse the people through some false information. Now, there are some people who are still alive who saw the incident of 15th August, those who are witnesses of this incident. If think about the context before the occurrence took place on August 15, who played behind the occurrence to happen. Perhaps many of you know, many of you may not know, on 15th August, Sheikh Mujib was supposed to go to Dhaka University. May be some of you know it. Now, the one of the then political party tried to create an unstable situation by its people so that Sheikh Mujib could not go to the university safely.Today, we have to see those people beside Sheikh Hasina who created that situation at that time. At present, there are some political leaders in the illicit government of Sheikh Hasina those who said to make ‘Dugdugi’(one kind of local toy) with the skin of Sheikh Mujib. Not only that, now there are some leaders, political persons beside Sheikh Hasina those who interviewed before media and said that Sheikh Mujib was autocratic. These people are now roaming around Sheikh Hasina. Dear audiences, guests, did you know that Sheikh Mujib ordered to bring 3 tanks on street on 14th August night? This recently has been revealed in a writing of liberation war fighter Mr. Kader Siddiki. Kader Siddiki himself said in his writing that Sheikh Mujib ordered to place 3 tanks on street to protect himself against the Inu (present Information Minister), against what Inu and JSD (Jatiyo Samajtantrik Dal- National Socialist Party) wanted to do. That means the tanks were on street within the knowledge of Sheikh Mujib himself. Now, if we ask from the tale of Kader Siddiki that was Sheikh Mujib forced to bring down the tanks for only this purpose. Not only this, those people are encircling Sheikh Hasina for whom Sheikh Mujib was forced to permit to bring down tanks, for which the situation was created against Sheikh Mujib. Some of them are very favorite and trusty people of Sheikh Hasina. Let’s move a bit more. There is a book of JSD leader Mr. Mahiuddin Ahmed regarding the Mujib murder of 15th August in 1975. There is a newspaper in Dhaka named the Prothom Alo, some of the parts of that book have been published in that newspaper regarding that day’s incident. I want to read out a part of that before you. Dear audience and guests, please listen to it. What is that writing? It is said in it that in the morning of August 15, a student, Nur Muhammad of Mohsin Hall, brought a slip to the Abul Hasib Khan, Deputy Leader of Dhaka city Gonobahini and to the commander of Dhaka city Gonobahini, Anwar Hossain, who is now a questioned teacher. It was mentioned in that slip that emergency meeting of Dhaka City Gonobahini will be held in the office of University of Engineering student union. After the commencement of the meeting, the questioned teacher Anwar Hossain told everyone, within inverted comma, ‘Brother’; it means Anwar Hossain was the brother of late Colonel Taher. He said, “Brother went to radio station in morning.” He scolded Major Dalim and said you are yet to draft a martial law proclamation? “Do you know who blasted the bomb yesterday in the university? They are my boys”. I think it should be clarified what was the role of Inu party in the morning of Mujib murder. Not only before us who are present in this hall, rather it should be conveyed to each of the 16/17 crore of people. Leaders and present special guests, This Awami League and its leaders blame Martyr Ziaur Rahman, the first president of Bangladesh, the convener of independence,in every of their speeches, for Sheikh Mujib murder. Let’s see very briefly how they do it for cloaking their failure. They do it to hide their offence. What was the offence they did? Dear audiences, was BNP established when Sheikh Mujib was killed? BNP was not established that time. What we saw? We saw who formed the government after killing of Sheikh Mujib. Khandakar Moshtak formed the government who was a close assistant of Sheikh Mujib. And, with Moshtak, there were some leaders of Awami League and assistants of Sheikh Mujib who formed the government and sworn as ministers. If anyone has doubt on it, he can ask HT Imam, the adviser to Sheikh Hasina. He was the then cabinet secretary. There are some strategies of asking questions, using those strategies, if he is asked, it will be cleared who were present at that day. Today, Awami League is lying under the lead of Sheikh Hasina avoiding the truth to conceal their failure. Do you know Anwar Hossain, about whom I talked earlier and his brother Colonel Taher was present in Banga Bhavan while Moshtak was swearing? Dear audience, guests and BNP leaders, are you aware of it? Do you know this information? I would request to convey the information those who don’t know. Only Taher was not present in oath ceremony, Inu, the very affectionate of Sheikh Hasina was also present at that ceremony. And another political leader is there in Bangladesh, Mr. Menon; he was also present in Banga Bhavan. So, today, it is being cleared that only to hold the power, Sheikh Hasina does not stay behind to ally with those people who were her father’s killer for power, those who made the plot of killing. How much abnormal can a person be or how much greedy a person can be for power where she works with those people who made the plot of killing and killed her parents and siblings all, she is running the government with them and made them adherent in so called and illicit election. Dear guests, audiences and leaders, I would like to go to next topic giving a little information in this regard. Not only this, as Khandakar Moshtak grasped the power after killing of Sheikh Mujib, later, people had to pay much due to internal clash of Khandakar Moshtak’s party and rivalry of power grasping. Who grasped the power making quo against Moshtak? Khaled Mosharraf did. That means who was the brother of another Awami league leader Rashed Mosharraf. If you go through the history, you will see, on that day, mother of Khaled Mosharraf who was probably a member of women Awami league, made procession for Khaled Mosharraf with slogan. That means, they killed each other, one another, grasped power from one another, Awami League did it themselves and at that time, BNP was not founded even. Martyr president Ziaur Rahman was far away from these. Rather, what we saw? We saw Khaled Mosharraf imprisoned Ziaur Rahman in cantonment. This is was the situation of the country, when patriot soldiers and people saw that the sovereignty is at stake and Awami League and its people are defaming the sovereignty, then the revolution and solidarity came through their hands. Through the movement of revolution and solidarity, people empowered Martyr president Ziaur Rahman that you lead the country through a right way. Awami League failed at that day as they failed to lead the liberation seeker people in 1971. That’s why; this party never could do something good for the country and for the people. They always fought for their own interest. That’s why; they don’t have any good achievement. After the revolution and solidarity movement, Martyr Zia soldiered all, amalgamated all and led the country in a disciplined way as he did along with armed forces in 1971 after calling for independence on March 26. This is the brief of affairs of Mujib murder and post murder affairs. And this is real and factual history. Dear audiences, invited guests and my BNP leaders, come on, I will show you another thing. I just told it what Sheikh Hasina told few days ago in a program. Before that, I will recap a few lines. Sheikh Hasina talked about 15 August in a program a few days ago. Since Khandakar Moshtak was one of his party men, his uncle, his father’s colleague. She used the word black ship with the name of Khandakar Moshtak in a discussion regarding August 15. But did you notice a thing? The names I articulated a while ago, those people who created the plot of Mujib killing, those sworn in Banga Bhavan after Mujib killing, those who were both in the killing and in oath ceremony, they are now moving around Sheikh Hasina. So, can’t we say that if Khandakar Moshtak was black ship then his adherents are surrounding Sheikh Hasina? In this case, isn’t Awami League totally a party of black ships? Then it is to say that Sheikh Hasina is the leader of black ships. Awami League is totally a party of black ships. Dear audiences, guests, I know this is a nonpolitical program. But I am bound to say these. I will come back soon to the points of our program. I would ask for some more time. Secondly, what I want to bring forward is, couple of days ago, I saw in some newspapers that Sheikh Hasina talked about my family. She put some bad comments in this regard. I don’t want to answer those things in that way. I want to bring some events forward which are real, which are seen by the people of Bangladesh.Whether her saying was right or wrong will be justified by you, alongside, I also would like to bring it forth to the seventeen crores of people of Bangladesh. Because, as I do politics, as my party does politics for the country, for the people of the country, that’s why the role of justification and clarification, I would like to leave it to the people. Let’s see a book which is found in market, a book of history. The writer of this book is Monsur Ahmed. The name of this book is ’50 years of politics in my view’. There is mentioned in this book that Sheikh Mujib killed Shahed Ali by beating a cane of table who was the Deputy Speaker of parliament in Pakistan regime. Not only that, murder just began. Later, go through papers, pages of history, so many people of that time, who were young in 1975, and lot of people are still alive. If those people are asked as witnesses, if the papers were looked through, if the research papers were looked through, it would be seen that Sheikh Mujib killed 30000 people of different belief after liberation. Not only that, the first extra judicial killing in the soil of Bangladesh was done on January 02, 1975. It was done by killing Siraj Shikdar. And then, Sheikh Mujib, man like experienced politician, stood in parliament and asked where Siraj Shikdar is? That means, he did not care about law. There is a monthly paper in America named Readers Digest;it was written in the edition of May about Sheikh Mujib that he was dependent on two civil organizations. One was Jubo league led by his nephew Monir and some other armed obdurate youth and the other was cruel Rakkhi Bahini. If we move a bit more, Sheikh Mujib had a son named Sheikh Kamal. You all who are engaged with politics know about a murder case of 7 murders in front of Surja Sen Hall of Dhaka University. You all know that Sheikh Kamal, the son of Sheikh Mujib committed this seven murder crime. Not only this, there is mentioned in some books that he was engaged with bank robbery too.Let’s move a bit more. Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Sheikh Mujib, how does she pressing the throat of democracy, who is holding the people’s right illegally, who is holding the power illicitly; let’s see in case of Sheikh Hasina. We saw about her that coming to power through the election of conspiracy in 2008, after some days, we saw 78 people were killed in Pilkhana including 57 bright officers of armed forces. The man with whom she made the conspiracy in a secret discussion and came to power, the then head of army Moin U Ahmed; he had an interview. In this interview, Moin U Ahmed mentioned that Sheikh Hasina was looking glad and was taking tea and biscuits with some other persons while Moin U Ahmed went to inform her and to discuss about what to do and while the killing was taking place. You all may remember that one of the closest adherents of Sheikh Hasina wrote a book about the experience of being with Sheikh Hasina. Do you remember? The gentle wrote in his book that when whole Bangladesh was protesting against autocratic Ershad, when Ershad normally attacked the people with his police and armed goons, so many of the people were martyred in that movement. That gentleman mentioned in his book that when a man died in that movement and Sheikh Hasina knew it, she took hot steamed rice with great pleasure.Think how much abnormal person can be, how much greedy a person can be for power. These all things are mentioned before with reference. Not only that, it was not so past, in 2006, you saw how they killed people with Logi Boitha after called by Sheikh Hasina. Not only that, their movement, so called movement, 2001-2006, when they ran so called movement against BNP government, that time, how they burnt the people by acid in front of Sheraton. So can’t we say that Awami League was directly engaged with these murders and their leaders did so? Not only that, if you saw the last 6 years, what we saw in the last 6 years? Thousands of BNP leaders have been disappeared including Iliyas Ali, Choudhury Alam. Thousands of leaders have been killed. Not only that, this Hefazat Islam, what we saw one year ago? Hefazat Islam stayed in Matijhil with the permission of Hasina government. And what we saw at night? How they fired and killed three thousand people to black out the Hefazat Islam. Dear audiences and guests, Sheikh Hasina is directly engaged with this killing. Why? No, no, yes will not suffice. You have to understand the cause. If look at the video clippings, if you see the newspapers of the following day, you will see the then illicit home minister of Sheikh Hasina, who told that the building was fallen due to their jerk, said that all things are under the supervision of Sheikh Hasina what have been done so far. So, what does it mean when Police and Rab killed 3000 people? It says that Sheikh Hasina is directly engaged with the killing. Now if I ask to the people of Bangladesh that is the family of Sheikh Hasina or Sheikh Mujib killer family? Through the events one after another, through the history one after another, it has been proved that the killer family of Bangladesh is the family of Sheikh Mujib. Let’s see. This family is not killer family only. Dear guests, dear leaders, this family is not only a killer family but also a cursed family for Bangladesh. It is a cursed family for 56,000 square miles of Bangladesh. It is a cursed family for each of the seventeen crore people of Bangladesh. Let’s see, how it is a cursed family. Not only killer but also a cursed family. The leader of this family Sheikh Mujibur Rahman stepped his feet into the soil of Bangladesh on January 10, 1971. To receive him, thousands of people were there in airport. Some of them one day ago, five days ago, seven days ago, one month ago dedicated in the liberation war. But forgetting everything, forgetting self-devotion, they came to receive Sheikh Mujib in airport. Millions of people who engaged themselves in the liberation war directly and indirectly, those who lost their relatives and home, with no consideration to them, Sheikh Mujib landed with Pakistani passport. A man can deceive with millions of people if how much deceptive can he be. Whether it is deception or not will be justified by you. Not only this, what we saw in the regime of Sheikh Mujib? Bangladesh achieved a title internationally during his regime. What was that? Bottomless Basket. Bangladesh got it internationally. Then, when Sheikh Hasina formed the government in 96, she was forced to hand over power to caretaker government in July. But one month ago, in June, TIB published a report. Sheikh Hasina brought the title of world champion of corruption as Sheikh Mujib brought the title of bottom less basket. Let’s see more of the contribution of this cursed family. Not only this, she again formed government in 2008 by an election drama. Second time, she was able to loot the money of Padma bridge and brought the title of thief from the World Bank. She again represented Bangladesh as corrupted country to the world arena, she was again able to represent the sixteen crore of people to the world area such this way. Dear audience, invited guests, my dear leaders, not only that. Let’s move a bit more. What we will see? Few days ago, closing people’s saying by so called selective election, abdicating the democratic rights of people, through killing people, Sheikh Hasina formed an illicit government after grasping the power, after forming this government, Sheikh Hasina brought another title internationally. She defamed her own country in the international arena. Do you know? Did you notice? This was to represent Bangladesh as money smuggler through smuggling money illegally to abroad. So, can’t we decide from all these things that this is not only a killer family but also a cursed family? This family is a killer family, a cursed family for Bangladesh, people of Bangladesh, democracy of Bangladesh, democratic valued people of Bangladesh. Dear leaders, guests, perhaps I am not breaking your patience. I will go back to today’s main point after mentioning another little affair. Mr. President, do I have time? Thank you. If we talk about a recent affair or see around us, what we will see? I mentioned earlier in my speech about the month of August. Today we are here in August 24. A few years ago, Grenades attack occurred on 21st August on a meeting of Awami League. Still writings are going on in papers. Today you are present here, brothers of media are present here, and I want to tell you, Sheikh Hasina is directly liable for this attack. She knew about this attack whether she planned for it or not.See the news of August 20 of that time on papers and TV channels; even see the news of August 21. TV media and papers reported that Awami League will hold a meeting in Muktangon against some activities of government. Sheikh Hasina will speak in that meeting. What we saw on TV? We saw law and order maintaining forces of government and security forces checked each inches of Muktangon thoroughly so that the meeting could be held safely.Everything was ready, their people were there. Suddenly, One and half hours ago, they decided not to hold meeting there. They will hold meeting in front of their office. Their people moved there. Is it possible to secure the place among so many people? It was not possible. Now If I ask, this is not my question, my belief, tell me who would be responsible to change the place of meeting? Where this program will be held is decided by the president definitely. Not only this, the chief speaker was Sheikh Hasina at that meeting. Was it possible to change the venueif Sheikh Hasina did not want it? If the leaders of AL tell that we did not know, government changed the venue. That means you don’t have control over Awami League. Then leave it, we will take it over. Now the thing is, definitely it was changed by the decision of Sheikh Hasina. Come on. Now you can ask, especially the journalist brothers, do I have any reference? You can ask it. I am giving it. I am giving one; you will look for the others. Kader Siddiki talked in parliament on September 15, 2004 in general discussion. What did he say on that day? He said we welcome the judiciary investigation commission. Investigation will go on whether anyone helps or not. He demanded the parliamentary investigation committee to investigate the occurrence of attack on Sheikh Hasina and others. Dear audiences, invited guests, sitting leaders, organizers, I would request you all to listen to my next line. The next line is why the meeting was replaced to BangaBandhu Avenue? It’s not my say, it’s of Kader Siddiki. He asked in parliament why it was replaced from Muktangon. Without any notice, why the government was not given the chance to secure the place for the people? Shouldn’t we hypothesize that Sheikh Hasina was informed about that? And Sheikh Hasina told relevantly, and some other who were there on that day did the same, the former president of Bangladesh, Zillur Rahman, his wife was died on that event, Mrs. Ivy Rahman. Sheikh Hasina repeatedly asked her to ride on track. Do you remember? She asked many times to get on track. Why would Sheikh Hasina tell her so many times where there were more leaders? Certainly she knew something. Otherwise why she would ask Ivy Rahman to come on track? Definitely Sheikh Hasina knew something. Did the investigation team ask Sheikh Hasina anything that is running today? Those who are trialing this, it is under trial in court, I would call upon the judges, I request them to ask Sheikh Hasina why the meeting was held before their office with a notice of one hour, instead of Muktangan? Is there something more definitely? That is the greed for power. That is they have to go to power at any cost. By beating the BNP government, defaming the BNP government before the country, before the world, embarrassing them. This is Sheikh Hasina, this is Awami League. Leaders, what we heard from 2008, from the current autocratic, democracy killer, freedom of press killer Awami League, Bangladesh has been named as Digital Bangladesh. But do you know where the place of Bangladesh is in the golden time of information technology flourishment? Let’s see another story of this cursed family. Recently Bangladesh has been placed in 148 among 193c countries in a survey conducted by E-Government Development Index (EGDI). But Bangladesh was in 134th place in 2010, in their regime. How this cursed family expanding their family business in abroad using the slogan of Digital Bangladesh, I think the people of Bangladesh have the right to know it. Leaders, The things I brought forward to you are some of the political debates. These should end. The truth should be revealed to the people of Bangladesh. The people of Bangladesh will be able to justify if they know the truth. And it will be possible to build something good, to found something good, if the truth is known. Dear audiences, I thank you all for your patience to listen to my words of first phase and to help me in saying these.
