BOM #VICTORIA Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds bit.ly/KODh4g for people in the North East, South West, Central, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts Issued at 11:19 am EST on Monday 5 August 2013. Weather Situation A vigorous cold front approaching from the west will reach western Victoria during the evening then progress across the remainder of the State overnight and Tuesday morning. Damaging wind gusts of around 90 to 100 km/h are possible later this afternoon for parts of southwest Victoria, particularly about elevated areas and potentially with thunderstorms which will be mostly near the coast. As the front move eastwards, overnight and early Tuesday morning elevated areas (mainly Alpine areas) of the Central, North East, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts are also likely to be affected.
