BOTSWANA ON REVERSE GEAR THANKS TO THE BDP This is the last segment wherein i wish to share my thoughts on why i firmly believe that the BDP has failed to place this country where it belongs all for the sake of self preservation and personalized constitutional arrangements as suggested by commentators on the previous piece. The very foundations on which the BDP was founded, being puppetry of the receding Colonial power have born fruit in the form of Citizens remaining spectators in a supposedly flourishing economy. I promised to clearly reveal why Batswana are both backward Socially and Economically, in the midst of an able economy that could have easily had us all gunning for spiritual upliftment instead of where the next meal or drinking hole is. Society is engineered deliberately to produce a clear National character that all in all makes it conducive for the citizenry to be productive and lead fulfilling lives both materialistically and spiritually. This is Greek to BDP thinkers who only dream of untold personal wealth for them alone. A neo-colonial set up like the BDP with little regard to how citizens will pan out in the next twenty years have manufactured individuals who shun their culture and run with foreign inventions. Their lack of foresight has landed the population in bars and spectator sides in all manner of sports. A football or fan of any other sporting code is not to be laughed at when they declare openly that they are sports persons, to them the only way of participating in sport in this country is through screaming and chanting from the stands while spotting pot bellies. Failure by the system to have them lead healthy and fulfilling lifestyles in a population of a handful is actually unforgivable as people live shorter lives than they could have under good leadership. The HIV AIDS scourge in Botswana being the highest of any country in the World just a few years ago did not happen because Batswana are of a careless DNA. President Mogae should be commended for having arrested the downward spiral otherwise Paparamba would have been running for President, unopposed in the coming general elections. His love for whisky however bared him from seeing beyond the bottle as the Nation mistook pubs, reveling and carefree lifestyles for the way to go. He failed to take the citizenry from Socially destructive to constructive social practices. How do you campaign to legalize prostitution and continue to criminalize polygamy? You will agree with me dear reader that these short articles of mine would never be able to cover all the BDP has done to put this Nation on reverse gear. Let me also point out that the mistake that some analysts make about Botswana being a good performer both politically and economically in comparison to other African Countries is misleading. Take for example Zimbabwe, where would that wonderful country have been today if had been handed independence without a fight? Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, South Africa? We would all be economic refugees being called names in those potentially wealthy Nations! Had they followed our path to independence. Imagine the waste and lose of human live that struggles in such countries have amounted to, and now they are already overtaking us! How about if Botswana had experienced a bloody revolution to fight for the diamonds? Would there be a country let alone a flourishing economy to talk about? The DRC has more minerals than we do but look at how unattractive it is because of The assasination of Patrice Lumumba by the Belgian, American and British monsters only to install Mabotu Sese Seko who shared with them in the plundering of Zaire. The BDP has therefore done nothing special as in the so called political and economical stability hash-tag. If anything, it has bred a school of thugs who are not even ashamed to pilot themselves around grabbing each and every little prime piece of land before they run away and be absentee landlords. Ministers are leading in corruption as the populace is driven into slave ships. The slave ships as expected are costing the economy both in the short and long term. Let us start with Namola Leuba which i have always seen it for what it was, slavery! It was always funny how jobs would all of a sudden avail themselves when the people were the most desperate and hungry enough to receive whichever crumbs were thrown their way. This has now been extended to backyard gardens, Ipelegeng, internship and now Tirelo Sechaba, TS. I am going to demonstrate how lack of vision by the BDP has cost Botswana its place in the seat of flourishing Socio-economic dispensations. I have had the opportunity to move around Government offices seeking help of some sort. I could not help but notice how effective the civil service seemed to be. This i realised was due to the injection of Tirelo Sechaba participants who are still eager to work, give them six month along the line and there will be unexplained absenteeism, pregnancies, theft, corruption and the like as the Children come to terms with their conditions of slavery. Countries like Mauritius continue to beat us because their planning is people rather than profit centered. Their ability to process things in record time derives from both using technology to the fullest and investing on their manpower. In BDP style, the top civil servants are allowed to own a string of businesses while the rest are barred from doing so, demotivating them in the process. How do we get the civil service, and the economy held back from performing by short staffing departments due to the high wage bill only for that space to be filled with demotivated interns and TSPs? Is the unemployment pool deliberately being cultivated so as to then offer to have them working for close to nothing? Is it not correct to say then that failure to gainfully employ a working population of merely 800 000 people is a monumental failure that has also caused failure in diversifying our economy? If people in China could make toys and sell them to us by simply using a machine worth P100,000, why cant we do the same and export the toys world wide? Why cant we make a car and call it Chabaya or Tshepo and then export it all over the place? whats wrong with the BDP? We have graduates who could be sent to every corner of the Globe to see which products are needed where, not to place bo kgoboge, Tebelelo seretse, Nkate the corrupt and Duke the rapist lefoko and the dying Blackbeard to lead useless lash-full lives in foreign missions only for their loyalty to the sinking BDP Slave ship. A thorough market research and survey would yield more products than we could even dream to produce and by then we would be employing millions of other Africans raising our population to attract other investors. These are the alternatives that the BDP apparently things dont exist because they have this disease of thinking that they were God sent with the best of brains as mercy to all of us. How they up to now are still failing to ease the land and unemployment crisis by building a planned city around our diamond mines is disheartening. There are more diamond mines in Boteti than anywhere else yet there is not even a town in the area. Forget about Orapa, access is controlled because apparently the land belongs to the Oppenheimers. There is enough water and land there to have our own Johannesburg! It could have been there in Boteti that the car manufacturing industry together with supporting products and services could be situated to employ all Batswana. Other vehicle parts could be made in all other parts of the country to be compiled into the car, van, SUV, Truck, and bus versions of our automobile. This is how the Danish do it, they all produce to make an end product that is the marketed as a whole. Where is the BDP? Busy running around on South African assembled Doyodas, yes Doyodas for that is the name of the Toyota family that continues to beat the Worlds highest producer of diamonds by both value and volume when it comes to car making. What a shame, we cant even make a sock or a toothpick, and somebody dares to say A e jeke...
