BREAKING NEWS - NATIONAL COURT REINSTATES RESTRAINING ORDERS AGAINST POLICE COMMISSIONER ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// The National Court this afternoon reinstated interim restraining orders against Police Commissioner Geoffrey Vaki. The previous orders issued by the Court last Friday was struck out after the case filed by Director for Crimes Mathew Damaru, his Deputy Timothy Gitua and Suspended Assistant Police Commissioner of Crimes Thomas Elu was withdrawn yesterday. The Officers were forced to withdraw their case after Vakis lawyer Greg Sheppard moved a motion to throw out the proceedings on technical grounds concerning the Officers lawyer Moses Murrays legal firm. The Judge Kandakasi advised Murray his client was free to file fresh proceedings. Murray filed new proceedings late yesterday and the matter was heard late this afternoon. Judge then issued new orders retraining Vaki from interfering with the investigations and arrest against the PM including his request to obtain the PMs file. Its reported that from the time the original case was withdrawn yesterday and the retraining orders removed Vaki issued instructions to suspend the Damaru and Gitua. Police officers were at the Court house in an attempt to serve them their suspension notices. However they were never served and with the restraining orders now reinstated they can not be suspended. The matter returns back to Court tomorrow.
