BSV Weekly Update: 3rd July 2013 Dear Members and Friends of the BSV, Please see below the news and program for this week. 1. BSV Special General Meeting (SGM) scheduled for Sunday, 28th July 2013 starting at 12:30pm at 71 Darling Road, Malvern East This important Special General Meeting (SGM) is not to be missed by current members of the BSV. In preparation to move toward the establishment of a Forest Monastery and other operational improvements, certain amendments need to be applied to the existing BSV Constitution. A sub-committee has been set up and has produced a document listing the Resolutions for discussion with BSV members in the scheduled SGM. Members are invited to attend the SGM and to show support for the resolutions. Ajahn Brahm has reviewed the Resolutions and has given his full support. Copy of the Meeting Invitation Letter from the President and the Resolutions are posted on the BSV Notice Board if you wish to view them. These documents will also be uploaded onto the BSV website by Friday evening. You are invited to review these documents and to attend this important meeting. If you have any questions, please present them in the scheduled SGM as other members may also have the same questions and would like to hear the answers as well. 2. Sunday Teaching Program for the month of July The Sunday teaching program scheduled for the month of July is listed below: a) Sunday, 7th July : Questions & Answers with Bhante Jag & Ayya Upekkha The community is invited to submit questions by Friday July 5th at the latest. Please make clear whom you would like to reply to your question – Bhante Jag, Ayya Upekkha or indeed both of them. You can send the questions direct to either Sangha member or to the BSV secretary who will forward them. The asker of the question will not be identified but if you want real anonymity you might need to post or drop a question in the question box at the BSV. Preference will be given to questions asked by Friday but late questions may also be answered b) Sunday, 14th July: Dhamma talk by Sunim Chi Kwang Sunim Chi Kwang is a very senior and well known Korean-trained bhikkhuni who lives at Kinglake, near Melbourne. She is a frequent visitor to Sanghamittarama and Buddhaloka. c) Sunday 21st July: Dhamma talk by the resident monk, Bhante Jag d) Sunday 28th July: Dhamma talk by Ajahn Brahm Details of this program and the venue will be announced closer to the week. The above program are also listed on the BSV website calendar, bsv.net.au 3. BSV 60th Birthday Celebration Planning & Action Team For those who are not aware, this year is BSV 60th Birthday – a great milestone to be celebrated. If you have any ideas and would like to help to plan and carry out some of the celebratory events, please email your interest to join the team to Padmini Perera on padmini@egoof. 4.
