BUHARIS CONTINUOUS QUEST FOR POWER - A CAUSE FOR CONCERN! For avoidance of doubt, I dont have anything personal against Buhari, nor against Hausa/Fulani people as a whole. Begging to use Fani Kayodes ideology, when I was single, I had some intimate relationships with Hausa and Fulani ladies.girls. And I still have nice friends from all parts of this great country, irrespective of tribe and religion. In the other hand, am one of the strongest supporters of strong opposition party in Nigeria. Nigeria cannot afford to be a one-party State. So, I was very happy on the emergence of APC in Nigerias political landscape. I also wish/hope that if they lose 2015 Presidential election, APC should stay together to fight for another election in 2019. In democracy, power belongs to people. Eventually, if the masses believe that the opposition have more to offer, they will have their chance to govern. The get-power-now mentality, which makes politicians as Atiku to change party the way I change my shirts should be avoided. With patience, Nigerias democracy will develop, for the benefit of the country. However, based on his antecedents, I dont think that Buhari is the messiah Nigeria needs now. 1) We are all living witnesses of Buharis actions/inactions when he forcefully truncated Alh Shehu Shagaris democratic govt. Alh Shagari, the President, was kept in opulence of house arrest, while all other top Govt officials officials of Yoruba, Igbo, South-South, even Middle-Belt, were kept for years in prison gallows. Common-sense dictates that the person most hurt by that putsch should be the President Shagari, who is the Head of State. So, why did Buhari feel that lower govt officials posed more danger to his govt, and must be jailed, while Shagari enjoys himself under so-called House Arrest? No one can deny that ethnicity plays a big role on whom Buhari choose to punish. Recently, Buhari is doing everything to change the perception of an ethnic bigot. But we all know that politicians can do anything to get power. Politicians are judged only on what they do when they have power NOT before they clinch the power. Buharis actions when he had power showed that we cannot trust him to lead modern and sophisticated Nigeria with over 250 ethnicity. 2) Throughout the tenure of his govt, Buhari didnt invest in education. Just as his cohorts Hausa/Fulani oligarch, they believe that the best way to keep Nigerians (especially the Northern masses) in perpetual poverty and ignorance is to deny them education. An educated mind can ask for his/her right. They can challenge the Master Vs Servant mentality that Hausa/Fulani oligarch have inculcated in the minds of the masses. The oligarch keeps billions for himself, while the masses wallow in poverty, Otherwise, how can you explain the abject poverty in core North, a region that have ruled Nigeria for 38 years, and produced scores of multi - billionaires (including Dangote, IBB, Atiku, Gen Abubakar, etc, etc,,,among the richest in the world)? The truth is that Northern masses who are rooting for Buhari are acting out of ignorance. They are main victims of Buharis past leadership failure. 3) Voting Buhari to be president come 2015 is voting for reward to massacre and death of thousands of innocent Nigerians,, especially the deaths of thousands of poor Northerners, whom are the major victims of senseless massacre instigated, or remotely supported by Buhari and his cohorts. We have not forgotten the senseless killing of Youth Coppers in Northern Nigeria,,,whose there only sin is that they went to North to help the masses and serve their country. Through Boko-Haram,(APCs perceived military wing), we have witnessed a mind-boggling massacre of innocent Nigerians, never seen in the history of this great country since Biafras War. We are all living witnesses to introduction of suicide bombings in Nigeria political landscape. In their quest to grab power by all means, the Hausa/Fulani political oligarch, with their outright and remote support for terrorism, have turned Nigeria into a laughing-stock internationally. A part of the country, previously known for peaceful movements 24 hours of the day, have now been turned into dangerous time-bomb. The poor masses of those Northern States, have lost all dignity of life. 4) The only bright point in favour of Buhari during his past military govt is the WAR AGAINST INDISCIPLINE. Yes, we look back with nostalgia. However, my fears is that Buhari may not have the absolute power he then had as Military Head of State under the current democratic setting. Under a military govt, Buhari can appoint and sack a judge with just a phone call. He can send someone to jail just by a phone call. But with kind of past and present criminals we how have in National Assemblies, I wonder if they will give him any chance to fight indiscipline and corruption without facing impeachment threat from National Assemblies. It was well reported that OBJ, upon all his feared vengeance attitude, was forced to kneel down to beg Atiku to allow him to do 2nd term. So, in democracy, can Buhari have his way, even if he want to fight indiscipline and corruption?. In conclusion, any vote for these oligarchs, is a vote and reward for the death and blood of innocent masses in the North. Make no mistake, this will set a bad and dangerous precedent for Nigeria. It will tell present and future generations that the only way to get power in Nigeria is to kill thousands of innocent Nigerians, and make the country ungovernable. Is this the legacy we want for this great country? Am not against North bringing out someone who is modern, educated, broad-based, patriotic, destabilized, to challenge GEJ. After-all, people as ex-Kaduna State Governor, Col Umar is well respected by all Nigerians. Ex-EFCC Czar Ribadu is also well respected. There are other well-respected Northerners, whom we can trust. So, why stick with an old and divisive character in the person of Buhari? We should look positively to the future, and say NO to backwardness and NO to divisiveness!!!
