BUILD CHRIST’S CHARACTER Colossians 2:6-7 – “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” Faith is not a product of the reasoning faculties or a creation of the intellect but of the recreated Spirit. Those who are led by the recreated Spirit are not under the law. Therefore, let us walk by faith. Faith comes through the Word. But how? Many read God’s Word to commit it to memory while just few read God’s Word to commit it to their hearts. If you want to grow spiritually, it is not enough just to read the Bible; you must read it as if your life depends on knowing it. When we do this, the Word builds Christ’s nature. It is not committing the Word to memory alone which is valuable but letting the Word become an integral part of your being. Not only must we have God’s Word, we must have God’s kind of lifestyle to be a Christian. God’s kind of lifestyle is a lifestyle based on positive faith, positive thinking, positive talking and positive acting. Acting on God’s Word brings God’s Spirit. God is building Himself into us, making Himself a part of us by dominating, ruling and sanctifying our spirit natures as we act on His Word. A beautiful life does not just happen; it is built. Build it by acting on God’s Word.
