BUSHFIRE ADVICE MESSAGE Time Message Issued: 12:26 22/01/2014 As part of the Bangor fire, firefighting crews have undertaken back burning operations overnight and will continue throughout today in the vicinity of the Bluff near Telowie Gorge Conservation Park and the Napperby Block. The back burn is to enable crews to continue their work on constructing control lines around the fire and is expected to be completed today. The back burn is currently on the track with planned operations. Residents should not be alarmed by the increase in fire behaviour and smoke as this is expected and within the planned operations. Residents should still remain vigilant,enact their Bushfire Survival Plan and know what to do if the situation changes. Aircraft will be in the area as a precaution and will be available to assist if required. Smoke from these operations may reduce visibilty along National Highway One, motorist are asked to drive with caution in these conditions, Residents should also note that the fire affected area remains unsafe and are urged not to return until further advice is provided.
