(B_H) NORSE BEHEADING RITUALS THAT WILL TERRORIZE ISIS! (ON) VÖNDR - This word described, for the Norse, the act of placing a tree twig (acting as a magic wand) in ones hair before a culprit or enemy is beheaded - you would not want to have your long hair in your face as you swung the Dane axe - otherwise you might miss. The assistance of the magic twig wouldnt hurt either. One must assume that a Asatru warrior going into battle should already have one in place. Old Norse (ON) Defintion: VÖNDR (gen. vandar, dat. vendi; pl. vendir, acc. vöndu), m. (1) wand, switch, twig (sverðit beit eigi heldr en vendi berði um); snúa vönd í hár e-m, to twist a wand in ones hair, preparatory to beheading a culprit; (2) stripe, in cloth (segl stafat vendi blám ok rauðum). Unlike in Muslim beheadings (see the video below) in which the Muslim executioner should gain pleasure, as Islamic writtings teach, in slitting the throat so as to allow the dying to suffocate in their own blood slowly before the head is actually severed, the Norse viewed beheadings as (a set of) blows to the neck and head to literally remove it from the body - with one swing (if possible). Often times, jawbones or collar bones in Norse beheadings were sliced apart as precision (throat slitting) was less important than severing the head from the body quickly WITH MASSIVE FORCE. To use an anology, the Norse viewed the head as a giant golf ball to be hit down the green with a powerful stroke via their golf club (sword or Dane axe) - the body then serving as a golf tee. Norse beheadings were therefore often disfiguring to the head and shoulders. I doudt that a Norsemen would have gained much satisfaction (unlike Muslims) in displaying a severed head, done either by sword or Dane axe, as the head would not have been recognizable in many cases nor would it have made a pretty trophy - unlike in Islam in which Muslims treasure the chance to display their almost life-like, ghostly heads removed slowly with almost surgical precision. See the Islamic instructional video below: https://youtube/watch?v=yHt-eqrLEOY Therefore, in developing a set of guidelines for NATO troops to use in conjunction with issued Dane axes, in the beheadings of ISIS fighters, I would argue that our warriors should wear the VÖNDR, issued by an Asatru Goði, into battle - this will terrify ISIS even more if they understand that there is a spiritual dimesnion to what is planned for them. In using the Dane axe, the goal should be to remove the head of an ISIS fighter with one massive blow if possible. Precision is not of importance, as an Asatru warrior takes no pleasure in displaying a severed head as a trophy, and modern forensics make visual identification unnecessary. Its a matter of efficiency then for an Asatru warrior - as often times its easier to severe an ISIS head to carry back to a base camp, than to carry the whole body back. That said, the Asatru warrior need not shrink away from using several massive blows to severe the head of an enemy ISIS fighter. If necessary, the warrior can place his boot on the ISIS fighters head, laying on the ground, and strike the massive blow. The boot can keep their squirely head in place while the warrior swings.
