Baby Moses arrived about 2:15 a.m. He was strong, weighed 7.9 and was 21.5 inches. Liesel had a fast but hard labor. Moses has a good cry, he was not blue upon birth, that all felt pretty standard. They let Liesel hold him for about 5 minutes, then took him to the NICU to get prostaglandin administered by I.V. to allow the connection he has to his lungs to remain open during this inbetween time. Luke and Emily and I were able to rotate being present with Moses and touching him while they kept him in NICU to get ready for transport. They had his oxygen stats at 97 percent (hurrah!). He was taken back in quite a transport apparatus to see Liesel again briefly, and then went to Methodist hospital by ambulance. Luke was able to head out with him, they left around 4:15. Norm, Emily and I headed home, and Liesel hopefully was able to take a well deserved nap. There is something phenomenal about getting to watch your son in law and daughter partner in this prayerful and cheering process of birth and life and parenting. Luke does a beautiful job of coaching and participating in all of this. Moses is getting to join a crowd of encouragers; Ada, Magnus, Jemima and in a way beyond my knowing, Mercy. We are watching and waiting to see how The Lord makes all things new.
