Bachelor of Arts on Broadcast Communication (ABBrC) The Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication is a multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary program that aims to achieve academic excellence through a well-rounded curriculum that is reflective of competitive, updated and articulated course offerings, geared towards the development of competent and well trained Broadcast professionals. Objectives of the Program Develop and produce quality, high principled and ICT-oriented graduates who can contribute to national development and be globally competitive. Provide quality instruction to Broadcast Communication students to maximize their skills and potentials through continuous updating and development of the curriculum incorporating new concepts and perspective in radio and TV productions and developing additional learning programs and skills related to other areas of communication such as the new media. Inculcate “research culture” among faculty and students through professionalization and institutionalization of researches for the development needs of the program. Continue to upgrade the curricular program by offering a wide range of specialized communication courses and additional elective courses that are relevant and responsive to the needs of the time. Continue to uphold morality and spirituality among students and faculty by incorporating value-laden ideas in the learning process thus producing high principled, socially responsible and dignified broadcast practitioners. Admission Requirements Incoming freshmen students who wish to enroll in the AB Broadcast Communication Program should meet the following requirements: Should have at least 85% High School general average. Should have at least 85 % in English and Filipino. Should pass the PUP College Entrance Test (PUPCET) with an average of at least 85%. Should submit and accomplish necessary department/college/university documents and papers. Should pass the interview and test or writing skills and other talents. Retention Requirements The student should maintain a general weighted average of 2.5 in all his major subjects in order to maintain his residency in the program. Graduation Requirements The student shall fulfill all the requirements prescribed by the University for Graduation. Also, the student must be able to pass all the required courses of the AB Broadcast Communication Program.
