Back from the vet with Wannya. I told her all the various signs he was giving me...clearly in pain, didnt like it when I lifted his tail or scratched his butt, some trouble urinating, not eating, ate something he shouldnt have, didnt want me to check his left ear, likes to chew on stuff. His ears are clear, so if he was headed for an infection, it seems to be gone now. No more discharge to be found, so thats good. He does have funky urine - thats going to the lab (which is cheaper than them doing it in house). We did an x-ray because she also found a pain response when lifting his tail. All in all, he probably has FLUTD (Feline lower urinary tract disease) of unknown origin (well see what the lab says), and soft tissue damage at the base of his spine going into his tail....like a sprain. Hes lost some weight, so she gave him an appetite stimulant, and pain meds. How do you sprain your butt??? I knew he was experiencing pain, so was already giving him pain meds, but now we have more on hand so I wont run out. They were all smitten with Wannya. :) No surprise...hes a love.
