Back in 1982, I performed pre-game at the Independence Bowl Game. Texas Aggies against the Oklahoma Sooners. All of the public schools would get together at Captain Shreve Staduim and practice... I, of course, was in the flagline at that time. The theme that year was the North against the South... I represented the the South. We had music and choreography to play the part. It was great! We were pretending to be fighting with our flags and in the end, the South fell to the ground as if we died... I wonder how people would react if this was performed on the field in this day and time... It was a very cool experience!! No one thought anything about it... But now, the Southern flag offends some... but it is all a part of our History. It cannot be undone... you should read up and learn more about the Industial movement of the North... and how the South was very rich with their produce... and how after the war, they were poor, starved and abandoned... I think about how many colonels were scholars, well educated, etc... I look at how after the war, some became a dean of a college. I wonder if we were to have another Civil War, would we find scholars to be our colonels or would we be at the bottom of the barrel? I think back on how great men have been to serve as presidents and through the years, their requirements or greatness has fizzled...
