Back in St. Louis after a perfect vacation with family. I really hated to leave. And if the end of my vacation is any indication of things to come, perhaps I ought to get back on the next plane heading to the Pacific Northwest! Caught a cold at the very end and that and the flight messed up my right ear, although the hearing is coming back today. Then, when I picked up my baby, Kibbitz, I discovered that she had been bitten by another dog at the house where she was staying. So I arrived at 5:30 PM yesterday, picked her up, got home, unpacked, and then went to the emergency vet clinic where they were having a very busy night, so we waited about 2 hours. The wound was in the skin over her right eye, which they shaved and flushed out and left open to drain. My son called her The Contender. It fits.
