Back in my childhood in AH, I had a small tube radio that I kept by my pillow in my bed so I could quietly listen to music late at night. There was a 5 foot wire used as an antenna that ran along the wall by the mattress. Turning the dial I would search the AM radio and a couple of times I was able to pick up the WSM 650 AM Radio Station. Yes it was the Grand Ole Opry. Imagine listening to Country music in Arlington Heights. It was another undiscovered world of music back then. That was back when country music was fun. Little Jimmy Dickens, a diminutive singer-songwriter known for his sense of humor and as the oldest cast member of the Grand Ole Opry, has died. He was 94. Maybe you will remember this great hit he had. https://youtube/watch?v=ZfYFx6MOTYU
