Bags of leaves I hate mowing the lawn, bagging up all the - TopicsExpress

Bags of leaves I hate mowing the lawn, bagging up all the clippings and having to put them out at the road. I just moved in this house but I know a lot of my Nabors. It wasn’t long before I noticed a man walking down the street pulling an old red wagon behind him. He would load up a few bags of leaves and then after some time come pick up the ones left behind. I was talking to my friends who also seen the same thing. They made fun of him and called him the retard with a wagon. I didn’t think much of the name calling and was disappointed in my friends really,,,, well they where mean. I said hi to him the next time he came by and with only half of smile he did his best to say hi. He couldn’t talk well and seemed a little off like he was paralyzed in half his face and had a really hard time talking. Well I couldn’t help but think to myself what is he doing with all these bags of grass? Well a few months went by and I seen that man at a local landscaping supplier just down the street from my house. On my way home that day I stopped by and asked the man there about the wagon man and if he knew him? As he told me the story of Sam a tear came to my eye. He told me that 3 years ago he was a well known man in town, that his name is Sam, he was a business owner up the road, and everyone knew him. He would work hard to help others and give to the needy. But one day he was standing at a street corner and a car ran a red light the driver was drunk and there was a mother and her child walking across the street so he ran and pushed them out of harms way but in doing so and saving them he was hit by the car. Sam was paralyzed from his waist down and parts of his face, he worked hard to walk again but can’t speak well at all. He has a wife and two children he loves more than anything in this world. Sam lost everything, and cant fined a job or anyone for that matter that will hire him with his condition. But when you ask him,, was it worth it? He just smiles and in a voice so rough YES he will tell you. You see I give him $1.00 a bag for each bag he brings to me.. I know they are worth nothing but he gave everything for their lives and asked for nothing. So I do this for him, He uses the money for food and his wife and kids. It’s the best I can do for such sacrifice. Well you can imagine how much I cried hearing his story and how everyone turned their backs on a man that gave so much. I couldn’t wait to mow the lawn again I watered that lawn every day my wife thought I was crazy. And this time those bags where in a new wagon with an ice chest beside it filled with food and a box filled with can goods and a not that read. “ for your true love, devotion, and honor, for the sacrifices you have made so others can life everyday there are bags of grass so shall there be food and gifts from God to you. God bless you, your wife and your children. And ya know as time passed his story spread through town and what I was doing along with the man at the landscaping store caught on and before you knew it he will never need again. So please don’t be quick to judge for judged you will be. There are reasons behind things you may never know, give and give some more for it will come back to you as said by God 7 X 77 times more.. Sometimes others are as they are because of grate sacrifice. By Kurt Ericson
