Ballybofey’s Larissa Muldoon helps Ireland Womens Rugby team to a 40 points to 5 win over Kazakhstan. Ireland are through to the semi-finals of the women’s rugby World Cup - Buoyed by the brilliant win over the all-conquering New Zealand at the start of the week, Philip Doyle’s wasted no time in registering their first score – a Sharon Lynch try after just six minutes. Jackie Shiels took over the kicking responsibilities with Jackie Briggs rested and she made no mistake with the resultant conversion. Kazakhstan battled hard however, and they got themselves right back in the game with a try of their own through Svetlana Karatygina. Ireland were shaken and lacked the quality that shone so bright against the Black Ferns. But Tania Rosser went over for a try before the break, which Shiels converted, and it was all one way traffic after that.
