= > Bandipora-like killings can have dangerous fallout: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq ‘Mainstream Parties Hand-In-Glove With Army, Other Agencies’ Srinagar, July 2: Stating that mainstream parties in J&K were ‘hand-in-glove’ with army and other forces, the Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Tuesday said Kashmir can witness dangerous repercussions of the “revenge killings as seen in Bandipora recently.” According to a statement issued here, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said this after chairing a meeting of the amalgam’s Executive Council here. “It is unfortunate that armed forces resorted to revenge killings soon after the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi,” Mirwaiz Umar said. He said if such a “pattern of revenge killings” continues, it can have “lethal fallout as such incidents can complicate the situation.” “Recent killing of two innocent youth (in Sumbal) were not connected with any armed activity. Both of them were civilians and were killed under a well-planned conspiracy,” Mirwaiz said. He said the Indian leadership and civil society should be questioned on their silence on the Bandipora-like incidents “But they raise hue and cry when similar incidents happen outside Kashmir,” he said. “The criminal silence of Indian politicians and civil society members reflects the double-standards,” Mirwaiz said. He said apart from army, the mainstream politicians were equally responsible for “bloodshed of Kashmiris as they collaborate with the oppressors.” “They are a part and parcelof the policies framed by the army,” Mirwaiz said. “The mainstream politicians shed crocodile tears on innocent killings to gain sympathy for votes.” Mirwaiz said there can be no military solution to the Kashmir issue and the Hurriyat wants that keeping in view the political realities, all the stakeholders of the issue should move forward with a positive thinking. “India and Pakistan should take genuine Kashmiri leadership on board and initiate steps towards finding the lasting resolution of Kashmir issue,” he said. The Hurriyat Chairman said they will send letters to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) and international human rights organizations to attract their attention towards the “gross human rights violations being committed in Kashmir by soldiers and police” Meanwhile, a delegation of Hurriyat (M) led by Hakim Abdul Rashid visited the house of two slain youth-Irfan Ahmed and Tariq Ahmed at Markundal, Sumbal. “The delegation condoled with the family,” a spokesman of the Hurriyat said.
