Barley is a 14.2, 13 year old cremello Connemara who is a much loved part of our family who we have sadly decided to part with. We have owned him for 3 years in which time he has brought me and my sister on from complete nervous novices who hadn’t really jumped to competent and confident riders. He is a perfect confidence giving allrounder/ first horse who really enjoys his job and looks after his rider. He will adapt to all rider abilities. He is a yard favourite who everyone wants to ride. We have taken part in all PC activities together including, rallies, camp, team show jumping and area dressage (junior and novice challenge). He loves all jumping including xc. He will do a lovely double clear sj however he does have a limit. Barley will happily jump up to a 2”6 course but that’s his maximum although is more than happy to pop the odd 3” jump in the school. He has hunted with his previous owners, and although we never did I think he would really be in his element and enjoy himself. Since having barley he has been to plenty of different competitions and local shows taking them all in his stride never heating up and behaving like he would at home. We have taken part in showing classes, sj and dressage. Recently I have really been focusing on dressage where barley has really proved himself by working well in a balanced contact, and showing off his lovely paces. Regularly getting 60%+ in prelim tests, and qualifying for championships at Cricklands. he behaved impeccably at Cricklands where we just missed out on placing’s by 1%. Barley prefers to hack in company even just someone walking but is good with all traffic, including motorbikes and tractors. He will hack alone however needs a more experienced confident rider as can be slightly nappy and spooky although nothing dangerous or silly, he just likes his rider to give him confidence and encouragement. He gets along with mares and geldings out in the field and is happy to live in or out. He is a great character with a cheeky personality who always wants to please. He loves to be groomed and pampered and generally made a fuss over so will happily stand all day. His manners are to die for, he never barges or drags and could be led by any member of the family. He is great with animals and children and never kicks or bites. He is great to shoe, clip and travel with no vices. He is up to date with his teeth and all vaccinations. He has been sound and sane the time he has spent with us so is open to vetting’s. £3,750 including bridle and rugs, saddle available separately More pictures and videos avalible.
