Barn Kitty Update for 06 October 2014: Hi Gang, A chilly, wet morning at the barn. Bart had the duty today and he went up around 7:30.When he arrived all was quiet. Maybe four or five kitties on the patio. It was raining and kind of cool so everyone (or so I thought) was inside snuggled up in their condos. The temperatures have moderated so it won’t be cool overnight for the next week. Did all the usual feeding and cleaning up. I also changed the straw in five more condos. All the condos in stall two have been changed and about four in stall one still need to be done. I think I have 16 condos redone and we only have 14 kitties so everyone should have a comfortable home. While I was cleaning the patio I opened the lid to the big wooden shelter and much to my surprise there were four cats all snuggled up together. I couldn’t find Christian and spent about 20 minutes looking for him. Finally found him hunkered down between the wooden shelter on the patio and the wire mesh. I was beginning to worry about him when he finally made an appearance. Tim called and was coming up to the barn a little later in the morning. He and Larry were going to put up tarps inside the barn on the south end to block the wind in the winter. He sent a completed picture which I will include. They also blocked off the outside access in our storage room and the other storage stall opposite stall one. That will really help this winter. Eric, Tim, and Bart will be having a work day tomorrow at the barn. We need to hang another light, put up shelves, and bury a drainage tile from the downspout. We’ll also finish up putting straw in all the shelters. That should keep us busy for a few hours…. Be safe and have a great day….The video is of the kitties eating treats on the patio this morning….
