Batten down the hatches, people... According to my own, completely unscientific, no consensus implied, global warming be damned, observations, we could be in for a cold winter. The barn swallows vacated our place about two weeks ago (about two weeks earlier than usual) and Im listening to the crows flock up (murder up?) in the side hay field...something that usually happens the first week of October. Plus, of course, leaves started changing in early August. But Farmer Clay, you say, it could mean anything - or nothing. I hope its just coincidence, but just to be safe Ive cut double the amount of firewood we burned last year, for this winter. Better warm than sorry!
