Bayelsa Dep Gov Commended For Building Church Governor Seriake Dickson has commended his deputy, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah(rtd), for his thoughtfulness to sponsor the building of the Nembe Branch of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, saying that it is worthy of emulation. Speaking through his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Fred Agbedi, during a Thanks-Giving Service and Dedication of the Church at Nembe, Governor Dickson said that himself and his deputy will continue to be grateful to God for using them as instruments to restore Bayelsa State, which informed the decision to legally make every November 02, a Thanks- Giving Day in the State. He, therefore, urged the people of Nembe Kingdom to continuously maintain the existing peace in the area, stating that without peace, there will be no development, which is very paramount in the current Restoration Government. In his speech, the Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah(rtd), thanked God profusely for seeing him through, during his sojourn in the Nigerian Navy despite the challenges, adding that on retirement, he only wanted to live a quiet life but after due consultations with friends and professional colleagues, he decided to accept the offer to serve as deputy governor of Bayelsa State and once again, pledged his unalloyed loyalty to Governor Dickson. He also expressed gratitude to God for His grace and inspiration to build the temple of worship and the Amanyanabo of Nembe Kingdom, King Edmund Daukoru, Mingi X11, for graciously approving the parcel of land for the building project. The deputy governor, further advised youths of Nembe Kingdom to respect their elders as well as constituted authority and also prepare to work, stressing that there is dignity in labour and that greatness is never attained by sudden flight but through continuous hard work and perseverance. Rear Admiral Jonah(rtd) also stated that he has indubitable trust and confidence in Governor Dickson, who according to him, is ready to work and leave a lasting impression and legacy in the State, pointing out that the possibility of failure does not exist in the present administration. In his sermon titled, “ two kinds of people”, the Senior Regional Overseer, South-South of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, Pastor Moses Odunsi, noted that there are two sets of people on earth, saying that there are those that are righteous and blessed who will make Heaven and those that are wicked and cursed who will go to hell. He, therefore, pleaded with those who are not in right standing with God to change from their unrighteous ways, stressing that a little positive change can turn the destiny of a man, a community and even a nation, positively. Also speaking, the Amanyanabo of Nembe Kingdom, King Edmund Daukoru, Mingi X11, expressed appreciation to Rear Admiral Jonah(rtd) for the church project, noting that the event is an indication that God is with the Nembe Kingdom. He equally remarked that Mountain of Fire and Miracle Church is indeed, a place where the power of God manifests and advised worshippers to be serious with the word of God and by way of identifying with the church, presented a copy of the Bible in Nembe language to the Senior Regional Overseer of the Church, Pastor Moses Odunsi High-point of the event was the formal opening and dedication of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, Nembe by the Senior Regional Overseer of the Church, Pastor Moses Odunsi and Thanks-Giving by the Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah(rtd), members of his family, friends and well-wishers.
