Be A Tree | Ibn ʿAṭā ’Illāh al-Sikandarī | Kitāb al-Tanwīr fi Isqāṭ al-Tadbīr "Imagine a tree that is planted by a gardener who desired that it grow, flourish and bear fruit. The tree knows, or can sense in the way that we people have knowledge, that the one who planted it would never deny it the water it needs to grow. How could the gardener neglect to water the tree when he had planted it, intent on its bearing fruit? And you, my fellow believer, are just like the tree. God has planted you and waters you continuously by providing you with nourishment and provision. God would never have taken the effort to root the tree of your existence and then subsequently refuse you water after placing you in the soil, for God is never careless or negligent." Be a tree. Stop focussing so much on where your sustenance will come from for Allāh is looking after you
