Be Ye Separate The Way of the Righteous By: Joshua Leach Evangelist Leonard Ravenhill once said that he had promised God, he would take a few months off from ministry, in order that he might get alone with God. Ravenhill was a wise man. It is impossible to hear from Heaven if we constantly stay busy. Busy working, busy playing, busy ministering; whatever the case may be, the approach to God can be misunderstood sometimes, simply because of routine. Those who know God intimately are never strangers to knowing the loneliness that follows. Some of Gods most insightful messengers came from a place of solitude and suffering. The prophet Hosea received a Word for Israel through a bit of his own suffering and solitude. In love with a whore, he experienced first hand exactly what was on The Fathers heart for an entire nation. Hosea knew personally what unfaithfulness felt like according to God. Today there are many who prophesy and teach things, Thus saith The Lord, but they often speak from fantasy, leading many astray. How could it be that so many have so much to say on behalf of a God that they themselves do not know? And whats worse, they have not spent time with? Sure, they may know some scripture, they may attend almost every meeting, they may even have a very gifted way of speaking, but what about God? Is He reduced to a happy, happy, joy, joy, feeling that doesnt last to the end of the parking lot? If a person receives standing ovations whenever they preach The Gospel, then theyre preaching the wrong gospel. The Gospel of Jesus Christ requires the crucifixion of mans flesh, it demands total surrender, and it says that if you love anyone else more than God, youre unfit for The Kingdom of Heaven. How is it that so many attend meetings laughing like idiots, when every single person on this planet falls short of the Glory required? There is too much interest on entertaining and almost no interest in Gods Holy Word. Are we not broken hearted? Are we not sorrowful for our sin? The Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent. Many evils confront the [consistently] righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. (Psalm 34:18, 19 AMP) The broken-hearted and the discouraged, thats who God confides in. He will take a man who knows loneliness and make him a shepherd. He will take a man who knows unfaithfulness and make him a prophet. God will take someone who is truly broken and will place him before his enemies and in that process, God will develop a faith in that man like the world has never seen. And if you say today that you are none of those things, I want you to examine your walk. Sure, there are times of joy and laughter, but the over all state of our nation and the nation of Israel should effect you in some way that leads to quietness before God Almighty. As a nation, we have walked away from God. His judgment is upon us and the window for repentance is open. God has handed you over to false teachers and false prophets simply as a result of His judgment. He will hand us over to the lust and desires of our very own hearts. America, once the greatest nation of them all. Everyone here is rich, we have homes, bibles, and freedoms. We have a church house on every street corner and there are only a precious few who will confront you about your sin. We have so much freedom because America was once founded upon Christ and this is what a blessed nation looks like. But, at the same time, we went our own way and slowly, but surely, we adopted other religions and other gods, becoming more and more tolerant of sin and partnering with the things that God hates. Now we are the most corrupt and sinful nation on the face of the planet. Do not forsake The Lord, your God. Remove every single distraction. Repent and be ye separate from the world. - Joshua Leach
