Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10 One of my all-time favorite verses, yet with Rett Syndrome there is no stillness. Her hands continuously are in motion. she often rocks to soothe herself. Movements are rigid and labored. I want to share this sweet video because it shows that although her hands are continuously doing the Rett Dance, she fights hard to do every simple task-like throwing a ball, getting a goldfish to her mouth, or holding a toy, even if for only 5 seconds. Which is worse: having no hand use or having no voice? I still cannot settle on my answer. I do know though, because she has no hands of her own, we are to be her hands for we are all one Body in Christ. And I also know that I will be her voice until a cure is found!! Be still, my child, and know that we will never stop this fight for you because you are worth it!
