A volunteer writes: “Being with Shadow is like reuniting with a long lost friend. Theres no need for extended conversation or superfluous affection; just the sharing of quiet moments together. And in this case, maybe a treat or two! Shadow was surrendered by the only family she has ever known; they tell us she has lived with cats and a young child, gets along well with other children and strangers, and is friendlier with smaller dogs. Were also told she is house-trained, crate-trained and knows a few commands. Its easy to tell that she was a well-cared for family member after spending just a few minutes with her. At the park, Shadow walks nicely on leash, passes other dogs - both big and small - with graceful ease, and remains calm even when a group of noisy children crosses her path. In fact, she seems quite content with the tranquility of the personal space she and her human friend are sharing. What Shadow needs now is a new family to welcome her into their personal space - a family who will surround her with love.
