Because of the powerful God we serve, I get to wish my daddy another Happy Birthday! Dad was diagnosed with cancer in May as soon as I got home from Texas A&M. It was a rough summer watching him battle radiation, all the while holding it together for his family. You taught me a lot this summer dad. You taught me that no matter what gets thrown my way all I have to do is put my trust in God and know that he knows what hes doing. You also showed me that we can take anything to God in prayer. I saw my family come closer than ever before this summer as we surrounded my dad in prayer. I saw our many church families stand together in prayer for my family as we faced this trial. I am very blessed to be able to say that after three months of treatment, prayer, encouragement, and trusting God completely, my daddy is cancer free and celebrating his 55th birthday today. Daddy, I know I give you heck...and you like to blame your gray hairs on me...but I love you and am so grateful that God has allowed me another year with you. Id love to tell you that you wont get anymore gray hairs because of me...but lets be honest, as your redheaded 19 year old daughter..thats not gonna happen. Just remember I love you and Im just keeping you on your toes. I know I like to pretend I am all grown up sometimes and remind you that Im not the little 4 year old girl I used to be, the little girl that followed every step and always wanted to do what daddy did. Whether it was building barns, mowing the grass, or putting up Christmas lights the day after Thanksgiving every single year, I was always right behind you. I will always be your little girl...no matter how grown up I think I am. I Love you daddy, Happy 55th birthday!!
