Bedwell Under 7s v Biggleswade United Under 7s Biggleswade were away for the 4th time this season and chalked up their 2nd win on the road. Biggleswade came out of the blocks like lightning with 2 very early goals from the impressive Toby. Jake soon notched his second of the season with a good strike and Fergus and Max got their names on the scoresheet early on as well. George kept the hosts out with a couple of fine saves before Toby completed his hat trick with another fantastic strike to put the visitors 6 nil up after the first quarter. The second quarter began well with Riley finishing off with his left foot after a good passing move between him, Joseph and Fergus. Kody had a great chance to get his name on the scoresheet but was unlucky to tap it wide. Bedwell scored their 1st of the game but Biggleswade finished the half strongly with the goal of the day coming from the left foot of Max - straight from a corner!!!! The boys did take their foot off of the gas a bit in the 3rd quarter and Bedwell took advantage and scored 3 quick goals. Biggleswade dug deep though and Jake was working hard at the back to push the away team up the pitch. Fergus scored his second of the game and Toby finished off the half with his 4th of the game. Both teams looked tired during the final quarter but Max and Riley were still working hard to add to the Biggleswade tally but it wasn’t until very late in the game when Fergus completed his hat trick with a thunderous right footed strike that no keeper would have saved. Man of the match was again very hard with Riley working tirelessly throughout and Toby and Fergus again scoring hat tricks. Max put a good shift in and scored a couple of great goals. George was also strong and brave in goal and didn’t concede in his 2 spells between the sticks. Eventually we decided to go for Jake for his discipline at the back, crunching tackles and all round determination to win the ball. This team as a whole are improving week by week and all 8 players are important members of the squad. Well done boys for all your hard work in training and in the matches. At the moment there is no game next week so I think the boys owe all parents a lie in and a cup of tea in bed for driving them to these games. Lee Dyett (Team manager)
