Been feeling a little down because Christmas, as blessed a holiday as it is to me also reminds me of all the faces no longer here. My Mom and Dad as well as Bills have all gone on ahead and sometimes that makes is a little melancholy. So Bill and I decided we would go out to eat tonight and to a movie. Sounds like maybe not a traditional Christmas where we went to our parents house but since Heaven does not have visiting hours, at least it is something to pass the time. Well no, not gong to happen, LOL, it seems God in his magnificent sense of humor decided to gift us with Christmas Eve puppies. The poodle who I asked the folks surrendering if it could be pregnant and they said not that we know of. They tried to do a good thing by getting them out of puppy-mill life but did not take the next step in the time they had them to spay and neuter them. And with unaltered males and females together nature always finds a way. After I got all the mats shaved off of her was obviously pregnant and close and has decided tonight is the night to deliver. We have two babies at this time, the first one came easily, the second I had to assist with. She is trying to do a wonderful job and there is no way I will leave her in case she needs me. So dinner and a movie will have to wait while I put on my midwife hat and help deliver puppies. So glad they are not being born in a puppy-mill, so glad she seems to want to be a very good Mama, and so glad that she is with me and will not have more puppies after these precious ones. Got to go number three is starting to make and appearance and it seems it is coming out breach. YIKES!!
