Been having a lot of inquiries this weekend about jobs with the new Ferry Service - Nova Star Cruises. First off all, thus far, as best as I know there are only two local employees thus far: Mark Muise and Julie Walters. And no, there has been no relative of any local Municipal Leader hired, thus far, as has been rumoured lately. Secondly, all jobs on the Nova Star will go through the Canada Job Bank. This is from an e-mail regarding this: We are finalizing the job requirements and qualifications per position. Once that is complete, we will post all positions on Canada Job Bank, and people will need to apply for the position that they are interested in. I will email you to let you know once that is complete. Thirdly, the Call Centre Operator has been selected, namely Intergy Applied Hospitality Solutions (Intergy) of Bedford. According to the Yarmouth Vanguard, they plan hire between 6-8 employees in the Yarmouth area. Hope I read that right. CEO Clarke Squires of Intergy says people interested in the employment opportunity that has presented itself in Yarmouth to tie in with the ferry service can email résumés to the company at [email protected]. “Our goal here, from day one in working with Nova Star, is to have an excellent presence in Yarmouth, to be able to train people in Yarmouth to be able to take these calls as multi-talented reservationists and in this case, it’s also about selling Nova Scotia,” he says, adding the ferry is a conduit to get people to this province “to see and do all of the great things that they can experience.” Squires says the Yarmouth Vanguard.... And, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock .... 51 days until May 1st.....
