Been wrestling about governed action and what form of response my own protest, if protest, should/would take––especially in the Poetry Cult-mmunity––regarding the recent onstage, deaths of Black Folks. I very rarely agree with so many of the choices my contemporaries make in their poems regarding Race that to do so now or to bunch myself into a Speaking Knot against Cops just seems equal to Exercise to me, a sort of bottom up swing for the unreachable, a built-in Rerun, and I am tired of Reruns. I want this to be done, from the top down where I believe the attacks are really coming from, up above the handcuffs, up above the court system. As a person-poet I find it hard to collaborate with those who think otherwise. If you are not willing to take a real shot (in art or life) at the Corporation known as America, then dont call me. I cant back up and help you. Ive seen my share of the many forms Racism takes: the us vs us brand, the us vs them brand, the us vs nothing we can see brand, all of it. And check it: America is not the kind of Racism-Racist place you are being told it is, wow TSE, but the Corporation of America is being run by the manufacturers of a Fantasy Real/Real Fantasy Racism and one of their most Racist acts is what they did in the White House in the name of Progress (2008) which is a part of this same plan. If we tell their servants, the Media, that we know the world is not what they our showing us...and dont give them anything else to show...despite the loss...the hurt...(I cant erase the hurt because this is war...those are soldiers not cops.. )it will be a first blow, in our favor to regaining the reality that our genuine ancestors (not these easily duped suckas) worked and died for. AMERICA is not the kind of Racism Racist place You Are Being Told it is! It is Worse, but the Worse is Campaign Airborn...You are not being Shown the Real Racism, the worse than cops vs citizen, somebody called your kid a monkey, a Congressman said Slavery is coming back Racism. That Racism aint shit but it hides the new wings of Racism and yall have got to unpeel the differences. And all of the Art that echoes the lower level (though true in spirit), solidifies the lower agenda by avoiding Air Force One. The trap is thick and now I, too, will write a poem about only what I have been told I can protest and see. I, too, will succumb to it.
