Before I continue with this status, my sincerest apologies to all - TopicsExpress

Before I continue with this status, my sincerest apologies to all my friends out there who have taken part and/or nominated me to take part in the #nomakeupchallenge, hope I dont offend you. Seriously though, how does taking (most times) ugly pictures of your face without make up help #kickebolaout of Sierra Leone? Because we saw the #alsicebucketchallenge go viral, we just had to imitate and do ours, didnt we? One cant compare an initiative that saw the likes of Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey writing cheques with more zeros than the likes some of these so-called #nomakeupchallenge pictures got to one that the very government is not taking serious. Are people making donations? In fact who are people making donations to? I know there was the ALS Association that received the donations for the other challenge. So again I ask, who is receiving the donations? (My bank account is readily available oh, I can collect) I have spoken more than I wanted to so Ill stop here. In my opinion, #nomakeupchallenge is mere slacktivism (this is the point where you grab your dusty Oxford Dictionary or lean on good old Mr Google :) ) and I choose not to do it. Please people, lets get our government working on this Ebola epidemic instead of filling my news feed with what Mel Bank calls an audition for a scary/horror movie. (No hash tags today)
