Before I spik, let me make it clear dat as a POTAG product, am not sayn POTAG does not hv concerns bt am worid abt de refusal of potag to bear wit de govt when de govt says WE SHALL PAY BUT WE DONT HAVE THE MONEY NOW, BUT WE SHALL PAY. Holding de whole nation to ransom bcos of an alawance is not gud enaf. I like POTAG bcos I hv worked wit some realy good members of potag bt in dis instance am for Ghana. 3 months without work is a long tym to stop payn u salary. It can only happen in ghana and no where else. Now on legalities etc 1. The Labour Commission is back to court challenging the ealier decision of the court so until that is resolved govt can stop payn. Perhaps de labour commission could hav first gone for a stay of execution of de 1st judgment b4 proceding on appeal bt dat wil not make any big difference. 2. The sole comisiona did not tell govt to stop payn. He was only comentn on a related issue of de sort b4 it n expressed concerns abt de protracted potag strike amidst cal for discipline in our daily lives. 3. Labour comision and govt re 2 separate entities as long as de court case is invloved. Govt was not even a party to dat particular case as a plaintiff or defendant. De judgment of de strike being legal was not against govt bt de NLC hence govt has a free hand to act in such manner as it deems fit in the interest of the country. I even doubt if govt was on copy of de said judgment.
