Before anything else, I want to thank Bishop Cruz, because today - TopicsExpress

Before anything else, I want to thank Bishop Cruz, because today he has taken the time to answer our calls. Since, we had sent a letter to the Archdiocese of Newark, on June 28, 201. In order to keep open the Guadalupe Center, we wanted offer economic and human support. For this reason we had also to seek the support of Bishop Edgar Moreira da Cunha. The answer came today, with the call of Bishop Cruz, by the way very kind and friendly. Also came the letter with the response to our request. After reading it carefully, we want to clarify certain things that we would like for you to take into account. First, we would like to acknowledge attention of Bishop Cruz, and let you know that all bishops are in our prayers and in our hearts. However, it must be clear that the whole Hispanic community is being seriously affected. And there are things in the letter that we have to make clear. The letter should have been addressed in a general way because the letter was signed by leaders of ministries, such as groups in general. The reason given was because we understand the direction of the letter should be addressed to a single address. We had expected that before we got an answer, they would given an appointment first, to explain the proposals and suggestions we have made. So we wouldn’t have certain objections in regard to the part of the letter that says: "Unfortunately, since its inauguration, the Guadalupe Center has been running a year of deficit year after year" To which we reply: The Guadalupe Center since its inaguration had classes every day, and has been full with programs in the field of theology any university can offer. We have had auditorium activities full, and retreats almost weekly. Even during the time of schools closing, the Guadalupe Center continued having workshops with teachers brought from elsewhere. And did with money from the archdiocese. Another point that is not clear is the one in which he says: "However, there is good news to announce in this. While the building housing Guadalupe Center is closed, you can be sure that the mission and ministry of the Guadalupe Center will continue. " This news instead of making us feel good leaves us with concerns, and has us wondering if they will give us another building with the same training center and accommodations to serve the Hispanic community of the Archdiocese of Newark, including all benefits for the purpose in which it was created, with eight classrooms, cafeteria, and an auditorium seating hundreds of people where young and old could make their activities and celebrations. There are 2 lifts thinking people with special needs as required by law, 3 rooms for retreats and talks activitiesand entire floors designed for retreats with their own bathrooms. That should specify whether the good news leaves us with the high quality of service, or whether they think less should be offered to the Hispanic community then what was offered by the Guadalupe Center. The CYO still stands, but is so far for people who need transportation to or pay twice as much for transportation use. Our understanding is that the goal the building called Guadalupe Center, was built precisely because of the ease of transportation and location. Also remember that classes of theology that universities offer are a luxury and the low-income Hispanic people cant aford it. We need to be equally educated to the same level university students are in classes that adhere to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Thus was established the IFP (Institute of Pastoral Formation) to achieve the goals set in New Presence Pastoral Plan. We need to emphasize that we totally reject what is published in the newspaper NJ Hudson. (Journal N.J.). If the solution will be to give classes in the parishes, this will not make sense, and be promoting Secularism is even worse, they would not be at a level near Pastoral Formation Institute, and we wouldn’t be able to have retreats, or activities to promote Participatory Pastoral. Words undermine all sense Pastoral de Conjunto, and will not have withdrawals at low costs. We also quoted, that the reality is that we do not have the presence of bishops visiting churches and get to see their background. Many churches do not have activities, or Hispanic priests which we ask more to be more of with letters to the bishops. We just want you to hear what we ask to make sure you know the real needs. So how do you expect us to have the same lifestyle and community spirit that gave us the Guadalupe Center?. There are missing of sense and logic to give us another building with the same expectations, after they invested so much money in the center through donations. We must understand that we now have more needs than when the Guadalupe Center was first built. Therefore, it would be counterproductive to the building that was built to solve and achieve efficiency and Participatory Pastoral Community, is now for the benefit of a single parish. This is causing people to lose faith, which lead them to fall into "relativism" because confidence declines in the harmony of faith and hope; fainting in the hands of other faiths they colored false paint to not meet hosted catholic apostolic sense of tradition. This is serious. So, we do not expect more. Before I leave, I told the Bishop that we should have given more time to P. Tonatiuh Espinosa to achieve the goals when he came with being the managing director of the Center. And I hope he Is still in consideration because he has a lot of charisma and above all, a great administrative leadership. Also to put back P. Juan Luis Calderon to direct the IFP, for which the Centre has the same charisma that he gave in the began with the Pastoral Education program. I was told that Fr Juan Luis is doing a great job in San Jose of the Palisade West NY, as the Augustinian Recollects are doing their best to give us the best they can. I hope that the great plan is to share the building and keep it under the name Guadalupe Center. Who should be for all and not for a single community. And with regard to the courses, we do not belong to San Jose or San Agustin Palisade to take basic courses, but we belong to the Archdiocese of Newark, we come from different counties and parishes. We need to share all common union in the Bread of Life that was provided in all aspects and activities in our beloved Guadalupe Center, designed for all of us in the Archdiocese of Newark. And this feeling will be given to the Roman Catholic higher authorities for further achievement of the aims and objectives of the National Plan and Ministry of the Archdiocese of Newark. May God bless and continue to bestow His grace upon our Holy Mother Church, ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC and that our Holy Mother the Virgin of Guadalupe Patroness of America protects us with her mantle.
