Before coming to SCPA, I used to go to St. Peter and Paul when it was in Norwood, and my mom used to have my lunches catered from Roys Grocery store which is now a Mexican Grocery Store in Norwood, because the school didnt have a cafeteria. Mr. Roy and his staff was so nice to me. He would always give me ice cream, or fresh baked cookies thst his eife had just brought into the store. They also frequently came to our house for dinner, and vice versa. My best friends were Italian, Jewish and Irish...all lived in Norwood and I spent nights and weekends at their homes FREQUENTLY! My absolute bffs were Lucy DeLuca, whos dad owned DeLucas Italian Restaurant in Norwood, Martha Clements, whos dad at the time was the Norwood Fire Chief, and Maria Cissell whos dad was the County Auditor, James Cissell! Of course, I was the only black child, but I was also the only one in the entire school! HOW DID I MISS THIS??? Yall just dont realize, Im truly hurting 😢
