Before playing HS ball, before walking on the HFCC hoops team, before giving Khutbas at diff places, before leading Taraweeh at the biggest local Masaajid, before the Madinah degree, before I became more knowledgeable than her, before any of the hype...I was this short, chubby, Iraqi kid who played batman on Sega Genesis after school, made sure he never missed Fresh Prince or Kenan & Kel, and had his mom. Before any of what/who I have today, I had only her. And for that single reason, my mom today comes before any friend, any girl, any job, any whatever.
