Before school was out, I ran into Cassy Epperson Jost and her precious girls at the ice skating rink...she told me they were there on their fun day as a reward from the $$ theyd earned doing chores...you could tell the girls were so thrilled, so from that moment on, I was intrigued to do some research and implement a system with Macaylah. Fast forward a few weeks to June, I went into a Barnes & Noble bookstore in Kansas while on a Plexus trip to buy rewards for my Plexus team. I ended up purchasing a book for myself, Smart Money, Smart Kids by Dave Ramsey and his daughter Rachel Cruze. Instantly, what Cassy mentioned to me about what she was doing, came back to my mind...I knew this book and what she told me was going to help me get on the right track with Macaylah. Well, yesterday was the end of week one of implementing her chores and her commissions were paid out to her! It was a huge success!! Not only did she choose to tithe more and save more than what shed been guided to do, she also decided to wait and use her save $ for when we go on vacation! Not to mention, ALL of her chores EVERYDAY where done and she never once complained and was excited to do them. Cassy may not think what she mentioned to me, or even remember it, but Im thankful for friends like her who are raising great kiddos in a Christ centered atmosphere, because it surely did guide me in the right direction when choosing a path for my own!! Oh, and Im loving the book!! Its a must read for any parent!!
