Before we build a toxic incinerator, lets take a closer look at the embarrassing volume of waste we produce in Hong Kong. With no significant sorting or recycling facilities in the works, the mega-project is simply a license to carry on our throw-away habits -- out of sight, out of mind. These photos document a small section of 1 small beach on 1 small island on our beautiful blue planet. They were taken yesterday and today most of this trash has magically disappeared into plastic bags destined for the landfill. This is all stuff we are all buying every single day. Take this short walk and look carefully to see what we are throwing away without really thinking about where it ends up. Its all the same stuff -- miles and miles of it ...
