Before we lambast those who claim to be Jesus and giggle at their - TopicsExpress

Before we lambast those who claim to be Jesus and giggle at their ridiculous selves, let us hit a PAUSE button and ask: Okay. Did Jesus tell us when, how and in what form he will return? And what do we mean when we say we believe in the second coming of Jesus? Does our belief in his second coming mean that he is not back yet? Why do we believe so? How will we know when he is finally back? What do we say about those of us who follow the preachers, prophets and pastors who carry on like they were Him... even though they don’t claim with their mouths that they are Jesus re-incarnate? We flock to “their” churches (I say so because it is them who say “my” church.) We quote their biblical interpretation and what they say. We give our money and fortunes to them. We follow them on social media. We endear ourselves to them. We defend them whenever they are under attack or are being portrayed in a negative way. We believe the things they claim to be able to do (for example, healing and performing miracles). Having said that, I want to ask you: If we love our pastors so much, those whom we even call “our spiritual fathers” (spiritual mothers are rare, by the way) and follow the miracles and the trickery they sell, not to mention the blatant church-to-church rivalry they engage in, the public spats and character assassinations, why do we lampoon and dismiss those amongst them who claim to be Jesus re-incarnate? What exactly do we know about the second coming of Jesus? Somebody please teach me. And you are welcome to pelt stones at me... that is if you don’t have something fundamentally educational to say to me.
