Before we left for our trip, I had many preconceptions of Surigao - TopicsExpress

Before we left for our trip, I had many preconceptions of Surigao del Sur. I imagined mainly a rural province with sporadic industrialized barangays mainly along coastline. I figured that there attractions were pale in comparison to Surigao. Needless to say, i was proved horribly wrong. Surigao del sur turned out to be a beautiful province with picturesque mountains and rivers standing in the background of many barangays. Whilst inside the moving van, i enjoyed every scenery my eyes have actively fallen into.(the dancing trees and grasses, the swamps, rocks and the roads).I even enjoyed their peculiar smells but what brought me to euphoria was the experience of breathing with smoke coming out from ny mouth and the sight of the tundra covered with fog. When we hopped off the van, the bluish crystal body of water and the pride of Hinatuan(Enchanted River) wowed us all. We couldnt take our eyes off it specially when big and small fishes came near us as we extended our arms to them, they were thinking,i.supposed that we were gonna shower them with bounties. We took a lot of photos and we bid goodbye to the beauty God has blessed the province with. After a two hour trip,we stopped at our next destination, the tinuy an falls. The beauty it offered took away the malaise we felt caused by the 9 hour travel. We chose the cottage where we can vividly see and hear the unmistakable rhythm of the dropping waters caused by the very huge 5 layer animate falls. After feeding the growling monsters in our bellies, the group decided to go for a mountain trek and we were so delighted when we reached the top.We all are amazed of how God layed His powerful hands to it and came up with such wonder.. After surviving the trail, we experienced riding on a bamboo raft and we went close to the falling water. The current was so strong and the sprays were all over and faces and bodies.we could hardly open our eyes. It was a great adventure to start the year. Never would i enjoy the trip if i was with KJ people but since i was surrounded with cool pals, the trip was worth the wait. Thanks Anne Combes-GAmbe
