Being a camp counselor is one if the most exhausting but most rewarding jobs in the entire world. Sometimes you dont realize the impact you have on the kiddos you work with. This past session, my fellow counselors and I did everything we possibly could to make this the best week ever for our girls. Every night we would sing them a goodnight song which had all their names in it. It seems like a simple gesture but we thought it was fun. On the last night of the session, the girls told us they had something for us all. They proceeded to give us a huge poster they made that said Goodnight Counselors, thank you so much for being there for us all the time. Then they stood in a line and each girl had on of our names on a piece of paper and they sang the goodnight song back to us with our names in it. This was such a simple reminder of why I do what I do and why I love what I do so much.
