Being sold in the May 17th, 2014 Antique Clock Auction. Signed H. Picard Figural Bronze Mantle Clock. Gilt bronze case has winged putti seated on the corbels of the side of the case with clock tower in the center having floral filigree and finials on the arched top, oval porcelain portrait plaque on the crest, inset painted porcelain panel below the dial with musical putti, floral, filigree & porcelain panels in the base and curved side panels; case is signed on the back “H. Picard” & numbered 2176. 3.5 in. porcelain dial has black painted Roman hour numerals and pierced trefoil hands; typical round brass spring driven 8 day movement has an half hour strike on a single bell. Both putti figures are missing the hammers which strike the musical triangles and one figure is also missing its instrument. 20 in. high x 20 in. wide x 5 in. deep. Estimate: 2,000.00 - 3,000.00 USD
