Ben Carson -- the darling of the far right and currently #3 in the GOP presidential preference polls -- thinks George Washington and company were very much like ISIS. Lets think about this for a minute and consider how Carson, and all the GOPers trying to defend him are absolutely wrong. 1. Violence is essential to ISIS success. Negotiating is not part of their plan. Our founding fathers only took up arms against England when all of their efforts to achieve independence without war were rebuffed. 2. ISIS slaughters innocents including children. Our Revolutionary army fought against the British army. 3. ISIS does not believe in the concept of individual rights. Our founding fathers enshrined the concept of individual rights in our Declaration of Independence. The rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness were gifts from GOD, not from the government. 4. ISIS has no code of conduct around their terror operations. The founding fathers followed a code of behavior around the treatment of prisoners. 5. ISIS has no plan to organize self-government in the areas they capture. The leaders are brutal dictators in the mode of Stalin, Hitler, and Mao. Our founding fathers shared a belief in liberty and structured the constitution to protect liberty. Listening to Ben Carson and Rince Priebus reminds me how far the GOP has fallen.
