Ben Chiza Mkandawire President Joyce Banda has to make three career saving decisions right now.. 1-is to replace Both the finance Minister and head of the treasury.. 2- is to with immediate effect fire the justice Minister and put him under investigation over his links to the Paul Mphwiyo assasination attempt. 3- address the maize shortage at admarc which has forced Malawi Government under her * dynamic* leadership to be buying maize from Zambia from the sales of the jet at MK35,000 per 50kg bag yet Mulli Brothers offered to sell similar maize at MK7,500 per 50kg bag. ADMARC is supposed to sell the maize bought from Zambia at MK12,500.00 per 50kg bag at a loss of MK22,500 per bag! With Mulli Admarc would be making a profit of MK5000. Having said that, the rampant corruption in her government has become an international issue sending our bilateral donors into panic mode. It is believed that her government compared to that of her predicessors has failed to implement serious anti graft policies making it the worst and most crooked leadership plunging the country into a deficit of half a billion US dollars within a space of one year. With everyone now focusing on the coming elections, the president has some serious decisions to make if she wants to be given a legitimate mandate, for a woman, she needs to convince the countries mothers who are sleeping outside admarc depots hopeless and burned out from the scorching sun waiting for that grain to feed their families. Its no longer a game of numbers.
