Ben Dial >>>> AR School Employees Health Insurance 39 mins · Malvern, AR Did David Sanders just say, We, the state, get nothing back from running the school employee health insurance. They arent our employees. Mr. Sanders, let me pop you out of your private school bubble that you live in. -The state gets teachers that are passionate about their students. -The state gets teachers that are working in June, July, and August working on lesson plans, working in their rooms, and going to workshops proving that summer vacation is a myth. -The state gets teachers that are involved in their communities and genuinely interested in the well-being of the students in their classrooms. -The state gets educated teachers, 100% of which are highly qualified with degrees and passing praxis scores. -The state gets teachers who comply with state mandates, no matter how asinine or ridiculous they may be. -The state gets teachers that define the very fiber of our states future as they are responsible for educating the future. -The state gets future doctors, civil engineers, police officers, and every other job that requires more than a spatula and a funny paper hat when our students turn 18. -The state colleges get a majority of their higher education students from the students that we, the teachers of Arkansas, teach. -The state gets teachers that are willing to call parents and tell them the truth about their kids because we care. - The state gets teachers that are willing to take an extra duty when their principal is in a bind because they realize they are part of something bigger than themselves. - The state gets teachers that love this state and put up with all the unnecessary BS that legislators put on us because we know we make a difference despite the efforts to make us just a spoke in the wheel. - The state gets teachers that are willing to live a lower middle class lifestyle because we love kids more than we love material things. But understand this, Mr. Sanders. We cant teach if teaching doesnt allow us to pay the light bill, pay for groceries, pay for the mortgage, pay the car note, or pay for insurance. To say the state gets nothing for seeing that teachers have adequate healthcare coverage is an insult and a completely ignorant world view. If you dont believe in the public school system, say so and be done with it.
